# Privacy Policy

*Last updated: August 6, 2026*

This Privacy Policy covers how **ShoutingNow** (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you visit **shoutingnow.com**, use our free tools, read our guides and blog, or reach out for support.

Our goal is simple: collect only what we actually need, be upfront about cookies and analytics, and honor your rights under GDPR (EEA/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), and other privacy laws that apply.

## Who is responsible for your data?

**Data controller:** ShoutingNow

**Website:** https://shoutingnow.com/

**Contact & privacy requests:** [support@shoutingnow.com](mailto:support@shoutingnow.com)

For general support, tool feedback, or a partnership question, our [contact page](https://shoutingnow.com/contact/) works too.

## Information we collect

What we collect depends on how you use the site:

**Information you provide**
Your name, email address, message, and subject line when you fill out our contact form, opt-out form, or an optional newsletter signup. We keep these submissions in our website admin so we can get back to you.
**Automatic technical data**
Every page visit can generate log data on our servers and with our service providers: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring or exit pages, timestamps, and the URLs you requested. This is fairly standard stuff for hosting, security, and performance.
**Cookie and analytics data**
If you **accept** non-essential cookies, we may load tags such as Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager. Those tools can pick up usage data like pages viewed, an approximate location from your IP, device identifiers, and interaction events. We do **not** load analytics tags before you consent wherever the law requires that consent.
**Comments**
Leave a blog comment and WordPress stores your name, email, optional website, comment text, and IP address. Comments run through automated spam filters.
**Online tools**
Most ShoutingNow calculators and utilities run entirely in your browser. We do not store your calculator inputs, uploaded files, or results on our servers unless a specific tool page tells you otherwise.

## How we use your information

Personal information we collect gets used to:

- Operate, secure, and maintain the website;
- Respond to contact, support, and privacy requests;
- Send optional email updates if you have opted in (unsubscribe anytime);
- Measure traffic and improve content, but only once you consent to analytics cookies;
- Comply with the law, enforce our Terms, and protect our rights and users;
- Catch abuse, spam, and fraudulent form submissions.

We do **not** sell your personal information for money, and we do not run automated decision-making or profiling that would produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

## Legal bases for processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, here is what we rely on to process your data:

- Consent: optional analytics cookies (GTM / Google Analytics), marketing emails, and non-essential cookies wherever that is required.
- Contract: responding to requests you send us and delivering the services you asked for.
- Legitimate interests: site security, fraud prevention, aggregated statistics, and improving our content, weighed against your rights. Where we lean on legitimate interests, you can object, as described further down.
- Legal obligation: whenever we have to retain or disclose data to comply with the law.

## Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are just small text files your device stores. We also use a couple of similar technologies: local storage for your cookie consent preference, and, once you consent, analytics tags loaded through GTM.

### Cookie categories

Category
Purpose
Consent required?

**Strictly necessary**
Security, load balancing, remembering your cookie choice (sn_cookie_consent), and core site functionality.
No: required to operate the site.

**Analytics**
Understand how visitors use pages and tools (for example, Google Analytics loaded via Google Tag Manager). Helps us improve content and fix usability issues.
Yes: loaded only after you click **Accept** on our cookie banner where consent is required.

**Functional**
Remember comment form fields if you participate in blog discussions.
Depends on jurisdiction; may be treated as non-essential.

### Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics

Accept analytics cookies and we may use **Google Tag Manager** to deploy measurement tags, **Google Analytics** included. Google, acting as a service provider, may process that data in the United States and elsewhere, typically covering page URLs, referral source, browser or device info, and events like scrolls or outbound clicks. We configure analytics to respect privacy where we can, including IP anonymization when it is supported.

Learn more: [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy) · [Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on](https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout)

Click **Reject** on our cookie banner and we will skip loading non-essential analytics tags for that browser until you change your mind.

### Managing cookies

- Use our cookie banner (Accept or Reject) the first time you visit.
- Clear cookies in your browser settings whenever you want to reset your choice.
- Turn on “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control in a supported browser. We honor validated opt-out signals alongside our own cookie controls wherever that is technically feasible.

## How we share information

We only share personal information when it is actually needed:

- Service providers: hosting, email delivery, security, spam filtering, and analytics (with consent). They process data on our instructions and are required to protect it.
- Legal requirements: when the law, a court order, or the need to protect rights, safety, and security demands it.
- Business transfers: if ShoutingNow or its assets get acquired, user information may pass to the successor under this same policy.

We do not rent or sell personal information. Advertising partners, if we ever show any on the site, may set their own cookies, so check their policies for the details.

## International data transfers

We are based in the United States, so if you access the site from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US and in other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we lean on safeguards like Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent mechanism our vendors offer.

## How long we keep data

- Contact and opt-out messages: usually up to 24 months after we resolve your request, unless legal or security reasons call for longer.
- Server logs: typically rotated or deleted within a few months.
- Analytics: retained per our analytics configuration, often 14 to 26 months, once you have consented.
- Comments: kept until you ask us to delete them or we remove them during moderation.

## Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may be able to:

- Access: find out what personal data we hold about you;
- Rectification: correct anything inaccurate;
- Erasure: ask for deletion where it applies;
- Restriction: limit how we use your data in certain cases;
- Portability: get the data you gave us in a portable format;
- Object: push back on processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing;
- Withdraw consent: anytime, for anything consent-based, like analytics cookies.

To use any of these rights, email **support@shoutingnow.com** from the address tied to your request. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within the timeframe the law sets, 30 days under GDPR or 45 days under CCPA, for example.

## GDPR: EEA & UK residents

If you think our processing violates applicable law, you can lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We would still encourage you to contact us first so we have a chance to sort it out.

## California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

California law adds a few more rights on top: knowing what categories of personal information we collect, requesting deletion, correcting inaccurate information, and opting out of “sale” or “sharing” as California defines those terms.

**We do not sell personal information for money.** That said, some analytics technologies used across the web could count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. To opt out, use our [Do Not Track / opt-out page](https://shoutingnow.com/do-not-track/), click **Reject** on our cookie banner, or email **support@shoutingnow.com** with the subject line **California Privacy Request**.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

## Children’s privacy

ShoutingNow is built for a general audience and is not aimed at children under 13, or under 16 in the EEA/UK without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and if you believe a child has given us data, contact **support@shoutingnow.com** and we will delete it.

## Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational steps to protect personal information, but no website or transmission is ever 100% secure. Please skip sending sensitive data, like government IDs or health records, through our general contact form.

## Third-party links

Our pages sometimes link out to other sites. We are not responsible for how they handle privacy, so check their policies before handing over any personal information.

## Changes to this policy

We update this Privacy Policy whenever our practices or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows which version you are looking at, and we will note material changes here. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy, subject to whatever the law in your area requires.
